Smart Cold Chain Buffer Entrance with Energy-Saving Access Control
Project Overview
This project is located in a seafood cold chain logistics warehouse handling high-frequency loading and storage operations. The installation area is a buffer corridor between the unloading dock and cold storage rooms, where temperature transition and air exchange must be carefully controlled.
The RCD3000 high-speed self-repaired door is installed on the warm side of the buffer zone to reduce cold air loss during frequent operations.
Challenge
Without a buffer zone control system, cold air from the storage room would directly escape into the unloading area during frequent door operations. Traditional manual cold storage doors are slow to operate and cause repeated thermal loss during working hours.
Additionally, pedestrian and forklift traffic share the same passage, increasing the risk of unnecessary door openings and energy waste.
LEFAST Solution
A dual-door buffer system was implemented, combining a steel manual sliding cold storage door on the cold side and an RCD3000 self-repaired high-speed door on the warm side.
The RCD3000 is equipped with a vehicle-triggered radar system, ensuring the door only opens for forklifts while preventing unnecessary activation from pedestrian movement.
Results
The system significantly reduces cold air leakage at the unloading interface while improving operational efficiency in high-frequency logistics scenarios. The buffer zone design ensures stable temperature conditions inside the cold storage area during working hours.
The intelligent access control further enhances energy efficiency and operational management.
