High-Speed Spiral Door for a Two-Way Parking Entrance
Two HSD4322 spiral doors for separate vehicle entry and exit.
Project Overview
The parking facilities entrance has one 6 m-wide opening divided into entry and exit. The doors needed to provide insulation and sealing and operate frequently, with automatic opening when vehicles approach.
Challenge
The entrance is located on a ramp and is used frequently by vehicles. The doors needed to open and close automatically according to vehicle traffic while providing insulation and sealing.
The main challenge was the limited width. The total opening width is only 6 m, while each lane needed at least 2.6 m of clear passage. This left a maximum of 800 mm for the four door columns between the two lanes.
The installation space in the middle of the opening was therefore very limited. A standard side-by-side installation would take up too much space and reduce the clear width of the two lanes.
LEFAST Solution
LEFASTLEFAST installed two HSD4322 high-speed spiral doors for the entry and the exit.
The HSD4322 uses an integrated motor installed inside the spiral headbox, so the motor does not require additional space on either side of the door.
For the two doors, the adjacent columns in the middle of the opening were installed in front of and behind each other rather than on the same plane. This staggered arrangement reduced the space occupied by the two door structures and kept the required passage width for both lanes.
Induction loop serves as ehicle detection connected to the door control system, allowing each door to open automatically when a vehicle approaches.
Results
Two HSD4322 doors were installed within the 6 m-wide opening while maintaining the required clear width for both traffic lanes.
The entrance now supports separate vehicle entry and exit with automatic door operation, insulation, and sealing.
